PAGE42 is a free daily puzzle published by Vittorio Scaperrotta. The web app does not require an account and does not ask players to submit a name, email address, or profile.

Information processed by PAGE42

• The current puzzle day and basic app state needed to load the daily challenge.
• Answer attempts, sent to a Firebase Cloud Function only to check whether an answer is correct.
• A local solved flag stored in the browser so the page can remember that today's puzzle was completed.
• Technical data normally sent by browsers or apps, such as IP address, device data, logs, and request metadata.

Firebase

PAGE42 uses Google Firebase to read the daily puzzle and to verify answer attempts. Firebase may process technical information such as IP address, device identifiers, request metadata, diagnostics, and logs as part of providing the service.

Google AdSense and AdMob

The hosted web version of PAGE42 uses Google AdSense. The Android version is designed to use Google AdMob. Third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on users' browsers, use web beacons, use IP addresses, or use other identifiers as a result of ad serving.

Google uses advertising cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Users can learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services at Google's partner sites policy and can manage ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings.

Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google requires consent for cookies or other local storage where legally required and for the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for ads personalisation. PAGE42 is prepared for Google's AdSense consent messaging, which should be configured in the AdSense account before monetisation begins.

Cookies and local storage

PAGE42 may use browser local storage to remember non-personal game state, such as whether today's puzzle has been solved. Google advertising products may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, and personalisation where permitted.

Sharing

PAGE42 does not sell account data because it does not create player accounts. Data may be processed by service providers used to operate the site, including Google Firebase, Google AdSense, Google AdMob, Vercel hosting, and browser or app platform providers.

Retention

Local solved-state remains in the user's browser until cleared by the user or the browser. Server logs and Firebase records are retained according to the settings and operational requirements of the service providers.
